Warhawks move on to SBC Tennis Semifinals with shutout of Texas State

New Orleans, La. – The ULM tennis team took down Texas State 4-0 on Friday morning in the Sun Belt Conference Championship quarterfinals to advance to Saturday’s semifinals against Troy at 10:00 a.m. from the Pepsi Center in New Orleans.

-In doubles action, ULM took the point after winning its two matches. Petra Horakova and Stefana Andrei won 6-2 on court one and Tiffany Mylonas and Luana Stanciu won 7-5 in No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point.
-In singles action, the Warhawks dominated once again on the way to the quarterfinal victory.
-The Warhawks were led by Stefana Andrei out of the number one position, who won 6-1, 6-2 followed up by Petra Horakova, winning her match 6-1, 6-0 in the number four singles position. In the number three singles match Patricia Villar secured match point for the Warhawks as she took the match 6-2, 6-1 to send the Warhawks to the semifinals.
-Horakova moved to 14-0 in dual play with her win today over the Bobcats as the Warhawks picked up their 13th straight win overall on Friday. The Warhawks move to 19-9 all-time against the Bobcats as this was their first all-time meeting in SBC postseason action.

-The Warhawks now move onto Saturday’s semifinal against Troy, slated for opening serve at 10:00 a.m. This will be the ninth all-time meeting against the Trojans, with Troy holding a 5-3 advantage all-time with last meeting coming March 7, 2016 when Troy won 4-3.
