Lake Charles, La. – The ULM softball team shut out McNeese 3-0 to snap the Cowgirls’ 12-game home winning streak on Wednesday in non-conference play in the Warhawks’ first road test of the young season.

NOTABLES
-The Warhawks first got on the board in the second inning on Samantha Agamaite’s bunt to bring in Vannessa Garcia before adding what proved to be the two final runs of the night in the third inning on Bailey Thibodeaux’s two-run single back up the middle.
-Sydney McKay and Garcia each finished with two hits for ULM, who collected seven total hits as a team. Garcia and Jessie Watts each notched doubles on their stat lines.
-Melanie Coyne grabbed her second win of the season from the circle for the Warhawks, allowing only two hits in the complete game victory. Coyne finished the night with five strikeouts in the game, and after working out of a bases loaded situation in the first inning (two walks and a hit batter) she did not allow McNeese’s first hit of the night until the fifth inning.
