Waco, TX – Collecting two wins and a save helped push LSUA pitcher Madison Resch to her first RRAC Pitcher of the Week award, it was announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Resch, a sophomore LHP from Groves, Texas, threw 12.2 innings in three appearances during the LSUA Purple & Gold Tournament, including a complete game, four-hit shutout of the #4 St. Gregory’s Cavaliers in a 6-0 LSUA win on Friday. She came in Saturday in the fourth inning and struck out three to get the decision as the Generals took a 7-2 win over the Lyon Scots. On Sunday, she closed out a 1-0 victory over the Scots by coming on in the sixth the bases loaded and one out and shut down Lyon to keep them off the scoreboard and preserve the win.

In five appearances this season, Resch is 2-0 with a save and a 1.94 ERA in 18 innings of work, holding batters to only a .206 batting average against her.

Resch and the rest of the Generals are back in action on Friday to open play in the LSUA Softball Invitational at Generals Field. First pitch of the tournament is set for 11:00 A.M., while LSUA takes the field for the first time in it against Arkansas Pine-Bluff at 4:15 P.M.
