Fired after eight seasons with the Saints, Bill Johnson will resume his usual NFL coaching duties in Los Angeles.

The Rams have hired Johnson to coach their defensive line under coordinator Wade Phillips, a former Saints assistant and interim head coach:

Johnson, a native of Monroe, was one of five Saints assistants let go last week. His first year coaching the defensive line in New Orleans ended in a Super Bowl win after the 2009 campaign.
