NEW ORLEANS — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has selected Xavier University of Louisiana Director of Athletics & Recreation Jason Horn as a member on the inaugural NAIA Tennis National Selection Committee.

The committee will be responsible for the selection, seeding and bracketing of the 2017 NAIA National Championships May 16-20 at Mobile, Ala. The NAIA will announce May 8 the 24 men’s teams and 24 women’s teams that qualify for the event. Seedings and brackets will be announced May 9.

The committee will meet throughout the season via conference call in preparation for the selection of the tournament teams. Previously the selection of at-large teams was based on position in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

Horn also serves as a member of the NAIA’s National Administrative Council (NAC) and the Competitive Experience Committee. Locally, Horn serves on the board of directors of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.
