Weather forces match to be postponed to later date

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Northwestern State women’s tennis match against Lamar University that was scheduled for Sunday has been postponed due to rain in the area.

The match against the Cardinals (5-2, 1-0 Southland) was originally scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at the Thompson Family Tennis Center. A makeup date has yet to be determined.

Northwestern State (8-3, 1-0) beat Sam Houston State 4-3 on Saturday in a match that was moved to a nearby indoor facility due to weather.

The Lady Demons have won eight matches consecutively and will look to add two more with McNeese State and Nicholls at home next Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12, respectively.

Both matches are scheduled for an 11 a.m. first serve at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
