TURNING POINT
-In the opener, Melanie Coyne’s sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning brought in what proved to be the only run ULM would need before the Warhawks added two more runs in the inning for the 3-0 victory. The second game saw UTA post the final nine runs of the game as ULM had six errors in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first game saw the Warhawks finish with nine hits, led by Cheyanne Lyon and Jayden Mount, who each had two hits in the win. Sydney McKay, Samantha Agamaite and Hunter Hogan each had one hit for ULM as well.
-Scoreless until extra innings, Lyon singled and Mount doubled to open the top of the eighth before Coyne’s sacrifice fly brought home Lyon for the eventual winning run. Later in the eighth, Agamaite’s infield single brought in Mount and Sami Billeaudeau reached on a UTA error that allowed Brie Wrobel, who had walked, to score the third and final run of the inning.
-Coyne earned the win in the circle for ULM, allowing six hits over the eight inning complete game with no walks and three strikeouts. Four of UTA’s six hits came in the opening three innings before Coyne stranded a runner in both the sixth and seventh innings and then retired the hosts in order in the eighth frame to close out the victory.
-ULM took an early lead in game two, posting three runs in the top of the second inning, all coming with two outs, when McKay walked with the bases loaded and Lyon connected on a two-run double.
-UTA cut into the Warhawk lead with two runs in the fourth, via a ULM error, before posting seven runs in the fifth inning, keyed by four ULM errors in the frame.
