HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Warhawks answered in the top of the third on another first pitch, this time a leadoff homer from Cade Harper over the right field wall that cut the margin to one run before the three-run bottom of the fourth from Troy gave the hosts the lead.
-ULM used another homer, again from Harper, in the top of the fifth, to pull to within three runs before Troy posted the final runs of the afternoon in the bottom of the seventh.
-The Warhawks finished with eight hits in the game, led by Harper’s 3-for-4 afternoon with his two home runs. Turner Francis added two hits, while Spencer Hemphill, Chad Bell and Stone each had one hit.
-ULM starter Stephen Morrison was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits in three innings of work. Keegan Curtis (three innings, two runs), Trey Auger, Tyler Schwaner and Chase Cater closed out the remaining five innings out of the bullpen for the Warhawks.
-Troy was led by Chase Smartt’s three-hit afternoon, while starter Daren Osby earned the win after six innings in which he allowed three runs on five hits.
