Warhawks beats Troy to reach SBC Tennis Championship

New Orleans, La. – The ULM tennis team took down Troy 4-1 on Saturday morning to earn a berth in Sunday’s Sun Belt Conference Championship in New Orleans.

-In doubles action, Troy took the point with a pair of wins over ULM’s doubles pairs of Stefana Andrei and Petra Horakova and also the pair of Madalina Grigoriu and Karolina Snita by scores of 7-5 and 6-4, respectively. The ULM pair of Tiffany Mylonas and Luana Stanciu were tied 5-5 over on court three in doubles action when match was called because of doubles point being decided.
-In singles action, the Warhawks dominated once again on the way to the semifinal victory.
-The Warhawks were led by Stefana Andrei out of the number one position, who won 6-3, 6-0, followed up by Tiffany Mylonas, who won her match 6-3, 6-1 in the number two singles position. Petra Horakova won her match 6-4, 6-4 in her number four singles position. Patricia Villar won her match 6-4, 6-4 to win the match and send the Warhawks to the finals.
-Horakova moved to 15-0 in dual play with her win today over the Trojans as the Warhawks picked up their 14th straight win overall on Saturday.

-The Warhawks now move onto Sunday’s Championship match against South Alabama slated for opening serve to begin at 10:00 a.m. on ESPN3.
