Volleyball Report: McGehee downs AOL in battle of hot teams

In a battle of hot teams, McGehee downed Academy of Our Lady 26-24, 27-25, 25-11 Wednesday in Marrero.

Naya Gros led the way for the Hawks with 22 kills while Jaida Felix added 26 digs and two aces and Maddy Tillery had 27 assists. Adde Baldwin topped the Penguins with 13 kills while Jill Chaisson added 27 digs.

The win was the third straight for McGehee (17-4). The Penguins (12-4) had won 11 of its last 12 matches prior to the loss.

McGehee returns to action today at St. Katharine Drexel at 4:30 p.m. while Academy of Our Lady will open district play at Helen Cox next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
