Chris ScelfoFormer Tulane head football coach Chris Scelfo has been hired as the offensive line coach at the University of Houston, the school announced Saturday.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to return to the college game,” Scelfo said. “(UH coach) Major Applewhite is the main reason I accepted this responsibility because he stands for what I believe in: loyalty, hard work and dedication.”

Most recently a tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons for six seasons under Mike Smith, the 53-year old Scelfo went 37-57 in eight seasons with the Green Wave from 1998-2006. The ULM alum has been out of coaching the last two season.
