ULM women’s golf team wraps up effort in SBC Championship

Muscle Shoals, Ala. – The ULM women’s golf team battled back in the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships to shoot a 307 team score, the Warhawks’ best of the week, to wrap up the tournament. The Warhawks were led by Shani White who finished in a tie for 27th overall.

NOTABLES
-White finished the event with a 75 on Tuesday to close out the tournament. After opening the front nine with a four-over 40, she battled back with back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes on the way to a one-under on her second nine to shoot 75.
-Michaela Osborne was one of two Warhawks to shoot 77 on Tuesday, picking up a pair of early birdies on her first nine on the way to a two-over 38 before adding a birdie on her second nine. However, a double bogey on the second hole led to a three-over 39 and a 77 overall in her final round. Olivia Landberg also shot 77 on Tuesday, carding a pair of birdies on her first and 12th holes to lead to her five-over 77.
-Devanshi Naik had a final round 78 on her card. Naik battled back early after a four-over 40 on her first nine to card a two-over 38 on her second nine, highlighted by six straight pars coming in. Ashton Maddaloni finished off the tournament for the team with an 81. She battled back after a 42 on her first nine with a three-over 39 on her second nine.

Thought on the Event: I was really pleased with today’s score. The girls played with improved focus and did a better job of staying in the moment and taking care of the shot at hand. It felt good to finish the Championship and the year with a team score of 307. I am very proud of our effort today.
