ULM finishes up at Sun Belt Indoor

Sun Belt Indoor Conference Tournament

Birmingham, Ala. – The ULM men’s and women’s track & field teams finished the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Tuesday, with the day’s action highlighted by Levaughn Battick and Lebrun Nelson’s fifth place performance in their respective events.

-Lebrun Nelson in the men’s triple jump finished in fifth place after a 15.0 meter jump. He was just .52 meters shy from winning the event.
-Kyle Weiss competed in the men’s shot put event on Tuesday and earned a point for the Warhawks with an eighth place finish in the event after his 16.13 meter throw.
-In the men’s 60 meter hurdles, Levaughn Battick had a fifth place finish with a time of 8.23 seconds. He was just .28 tenths of a second from winning the event.
-In the men’s 5,000 meter run, Elias Keter had an impressive fifth place finish with a time of 14:53.77, just 23.30 off of the winning time.
-The women’s team 4×400 meter relay team finished in 10th place with a time of 4:08.15 in the event. The men’s team in the 4×400 meter relay had a seventh place finish with a 3:22.00 time.

-ULM now begins preparation for the outdoor season which is slated to kickoff at the McNeese Louisiana Challenge on Saturday, March 11.
