Track – McNeese opens action at Texas Invite

AUSTIN – Adriano Theriot cleared a personal record height of 15-feet, 5 ½-inches in the men’s pole vault to highlight McNeese’s first day of competition at the Texas Invitational Track and Field Meet on Friday afternoon.

The two day meet will conclude on Saturday with the remaining events, including most of the running.

Theriot finished eighth in the pole vault after he reached his top height on his first attempt.

Bradley Traviss had a fourth place showing in the men’s 5,000-meter run at 15:40.87 while Lentz Similien placed ninth in the triple jump at 46-6 and Steven Benjamin 12th in the javelin throw at 163-1.

On the women’s side, Alanna Arvie and Ashley Johnson placed 10th and 11th respectively in the javelin event, Arvie throwing 120-2 and Johnson 112-2 in her first time to throw on the season.

Kennedy Sampey finished 12th in the pole vault after clearing 10-4.75 and Tijana Antic was 15th in the triple jump with a mark of 38-8.75.
