NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana track and field team’s stay at the Northwestern State Leon Johnson Invitational was a short one on Saturday.

Only two events were completed – the women’s discus and the men’s shot put – before a series of storm bands hit the area, forcing the cancellation of the meet. The women’s long jump, shot put and pole vault and the men’s high jump and discus also got started, but the results of the meet will not count because the required 10 events were not contested.

Southeastern will close out its regular season schedule at the Ole Miss Classic next Saturday. The Southland Championships are scheduled for May 12-14 in New Orleans.
