Alexandria, LA – LSUA head women’s basketball coach Bob Austin announced the first three signings of his recruiting class, securing letters of intent from junior college transfer Kathan Arvie as well as incoming freshmen Nakendria Wilson and Paige Troutman.
Arvie, a point guard from Ville Platte, Louisiana, will come to LSUA as a junior after playing two seasons at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. In her sophomore season with the Roadrunners, Arvie scored just more than a point per game in four minutes of action per contest. She also averaged more than one assist per game and just about a rebound per contest. She prepped at Northwest High School in Opelousas, where she was named team MVP, first team All-District and first team All-Parish in her senior season.
Wilson, a forward from Beaumont, Texas, comes to LSUA after prepping at East St. John High School in Reserve, Louisiana. As a freshman with the Tigers, she was named Newcomer of the Year, and raised the standard in her sophomore season as a first team All-District performer. She helped guide the Tigers to the State Semifinals her senior season. At ESJ, she averages seven points and five rebounds per game with an assist and little more than a block per contest.
Troutman, a combo guard/forward from Hathaway, Louisiana, prepped at Hathaway High School. During her decorated career with the Hornets, Troutman was named team MVP , Most Improved, was first team All-District, first team All-Parish and was honored with the Stephanie Avant Memorial Award.
All three are expected to enroll for the fall semester and be eligible to play in the 2017-18 season.
