Baton Rouge, La. – The ULM men’s and women’s track & field teams produced a strong showing in Saturday’s LSU Alumni Gold meet highlighted by three runner-up finishes.
– Adriunna Brown finished second in the women’s long jump with a 5.70 meter jump, while Alexis Gordon finished second in the discus throw with her distance of 50.26 meters. Jemal Parharm finished second in the men’s long jump with his 7.35 meter distance.
-In the 800 meter event, the Warhawks were led by Baillie Cunningham, who finished in fourth place with a 2:20.84 finishing time. Kennedy Smith placed in tenth place with a 2:27.11. Angela Jepchirchir finished sixth in the 1500 meter run with her time of 4:48.91.
-Kourtni Russell finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with her 14.74 second time, while Toni Corso ran a 1:04.23 in the 400 meter hurdles for a seventh place finish.
-Brandon McDonald finished sixth in the 1500 meter run with a 3:56.45 finishing time, while Jacob Holland finished ninth in the 5000 meter run with a 16:30.57 time.
-Zach Kilpatrick placed in tenth in the 400 meter hurdles with his time of 54.90. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, the Warhawks had a pair in the Top 10, led by Elias Keter who finished seventh with a 9:40.23 finishing time. Kipkuri Victor finished ninth with a 9:51.94 time.
-Dahndre Washington finished seventh with a 13.68 jump in the triple jump, while in the men’s Triple Jump LeJuan Simon event, Lebrun Nelson finished second with a 15.48 meter jump.
-The Warhawks had a strong showing in the men’s shot put led by Kyle Weiss who placed in fourth place. Weiss finished with a 17.08 meter throw. Micah Dye finished seventh with a 16.19 meter throw. Jevaughn Shaw finished ninth with a 15.57 meter throw on Saturday.
-Shaw concluded the day with a fifth place finish in the discus throw with a 55.42 meter distance.
-ULM will be back on the track next Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29 in the Southern Miss Open in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
