RUSTON – Seniors Jazmin Britos, Marta Sramkova and Haley Ballinger each delivered victories in both singles and doubles in their final home matches at the LA Tech Tennis Complex, helping the Louisiana Tech women’s tennis team to a 7-0 shutout victory over Grambling State on Sunday afternoon.

The trio led LA Tech (12-11) to a perfect 5-0 mark at home this spring, the first undefeated home season for the Lady Techsters since 2013.

The day got started with the duo of Britos and junior Alba Escalona Perny cruising to a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 spot in dubs. It was the tandem’s team-leading ninth win and third straight.

Clinching the doubles point for LA Tech was Ballinger and freshman Jill van den Dungen who teamed up for the first time this dual season and delivered a 6-4 win on court three.

Shortly thereafter, court two wrapped up with Sramkova and freshman Nadja Manjon winning their eighth straight together by a final score of 6-4.

In singles, it was Britos who gave LA Tech a 2-0 lead after overpowering Tanyaradzwa Magunje 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 position. It was a historic win for the senior as it was career dual singles win No. 50, making her the third Lady Techster in program history to achieve that feat.

Fellow senior Ballinger was next to finish, winning 6-2, 6-4 over Bryttish Burts on court five for her sixth singles win. Clinching the match for LA Tech was Perny with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on court four.

Insurance wins came via sophomore Sonia Chen and Dungen who both won in straight sets on courts two and six, respectively. The final win of the day came from Sramkova who bounced back from dropping the first set to taking sets two and three.

This was LA Tech’s second win this spring over crosstown foe Grambling State (0-13). It was also a bounce back win after dropping the last three, including a 5-2 loss to the No. 1-ranked junior college team in the country in Tyler Junior College on Saturday.

The Lady Techsters will close out the regular season on Saturday, April 15 at nationally-ranked Rice in Houston. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
