One of the first automatic berths to the NCAA baseball tournament gets handed out this week in New Orleans.

Again this year, the Southwestern Athletic Conference is holding its tournament at the MLB Urban Youth Academy at Wesley Barrow Stadium. The tournament began Wednesday morning and runs through Sunday.

The tournament is made up of two, four-team, double-elimination brackets. The survivors in each bracket meet in a one-game final Sunday at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.

Grambling and Jackson State – the West and East division regular-season titles, respectively – are the top seeds in the two brackets.

Southern got the fourth and final seed from the West after defeating Texas Southern 8-6 on Sunday in a makeup of a game that was previously rained out.

Alabama State is the defending champion.

Tickets are $10 per day or $35 for a tournament pass for adults, and $5 per day or $10 for a tournament pass for students age 10 and under or with a high school or college ID. More information on the tournament can be found here.
