Star Wars Night Rained Out, Doubleheader Schedule for Saturday

HAMMOND, La. – Heavy rains have forced Southeastern Louisiana to postpone Friday’s Southland Conference contest against Central Arkansas.

Southeastern (31-16, 17-10 Southland) and the Bears (28-20, 15-9 Southland) will now play a doubleheader Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m., and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

All three games in the Southland series can be heard in the Hammond, Louisiana, area on KSLU 90.9 FM, and worldwide online or through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Fans can keep up with the game through live statistics or by following @SLUathletics on Twitter.

Streaming video is available on LionVision, Southeastern’s subscription-based video stream.

The Star Wars Night promotion, slated for Friday, will not be rescheduled.

Saturday’s baseball alumni reunion will continue as scheduled. A special recognition will be held for the 25th Anniversary of the 1992 team, which was the first Southeastern squad to reach an NCAA Division I regional.

All baseball alumni are welcome to attend without advance notice, but to help with planning please RSVP with Larry Hymel at (985) 549-3228 or [email protected] Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the parking garage attached to Strawberry Stadium.

Heavy traffic is expected on University Ave. because of Saturday’s graduation ceremony, so attendees are encouraged to approach campus from the south to avoid delays.

The series wraps Sunday with a special Mother’s Day ceremony. Fans are encouraged to participate in “Pink at the Park”, wearing their pink to support breast cancer awareness.

Sunday will also feature a Cane’s Challenge. If the Lions score four runs or more, fans can redeem their game ticket or student coupon to their local participating Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers by the end of business on Monday to receive a free combo with the purchase of another of equal or greater value.

Links for audio, video, stats, gameday promotions and tickets can be found on the baseball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Only doubleheader tickets will be sold for Saturday’s games, allowing admission to both games with the purchase of one ticket, and the ballpark will not be cleared between games. Doubleheader ticket prices are $13 for adults and $9 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.

Season ticket holders, and fans that have already purchased tickets for the weekend series, may use either their Friday or Saturday ticket for admission to the doubleheader.

General Admission tickets for Sunday’s home game are $9 for adults and $6 for children (ages 3-12). Tax is included in the price of admission. Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid university ID card.

Students and campus organizations can earn points toward their Lion Up Loyalty account at any home game by checking in on the mobile app while in attendance.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the athletics ticket office at (985) 549-5466 or 1-866-LION-TIX. Ticket office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Fridays. The box office at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.
