Prep Bowling

NEW ORLEANS – SportsNOLA.com’s live coverage of high school sports takes to the lanes on Monday.

SportsNOLA Prep Bowling presented by First NBC Bank features extensive coverage of the New Orleans area bowling regional tournament from AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

The live stream will begin just prior to 1 p.m. and will feature coverage of the second and third sessions of the day.

The event features 11 boys and seven girls teams competing for spots in the state tournament. Four boys and three girls teams, plus the highest-scoring individuals from non-advancing teams, will move on to the bi-regional March 28 in Baton Rouge.

Two-time defending state champion Brother Martin (12-0), which brings a 46-match winning streak into the regional, is the No. 1 seed on the boys side. Archbishop Shaw, Holy Cross and Salmen – which tied for second among area teams with 9-3 records – round out the top four seeds.

Among girls teams, Academy of Our Lady (11-1) is the top seed, followed by Archbishop Chapelle (10-2) and Cabrini (9-3).

SportsNOLA’s Ken Trahan and Lenny Vangilder will describe the action.

Again this season, SportsNOLA.com is complementing its First NBC Bank Prep Showcase schedule with additional events that will air exclusively on Louisiana’s leading independent sports website.

Additional webcasts will be announced as the season progresses. The schedule of web-exclusive events will include a variety of different sports.

New Orleans-based First NBC Bank, in an effort to enhance the visibility of high school sports in the region, is the presenting sponsor of the web coverage in addition to its title sponsorship of the First NBC Bank Prep Showcase.
