McDonogh 35-Karr

NEW ORLEANS – wraps up its coverage of live playoff football action with a district rematch in Class 4A, this time for a trip to the state championship.

SportsNOLA Prep Football presented by First NBC Bank will have a live video stream of the matchup between No. 3 seed McDonogh 35 (12-1) and No. 2 seed Edna Karr (12-0) Friday night from Behrman Stadium. The stream will begin just prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff.

The teams met in Week 10 – a matchup that also aired live on SportsNOLA – as the Cougars rallied from an early deficit to score 49 unanswered points and hand the Roneagles their only loss of the season, 56-12.

McDonogh 35 defeated Grant and North DeSoto at home before rallying in the fourth quarter to knock off Plaquemine in the quarterfinals.

Karr has scored 176 points in playoff victories over Pearl River, Leesville and Benton. The Cougars have topped the 50-point mark in each of their last 10 games, dating back to mid-September.

The McDonogh 35-Karr winner advances to the Class 4A championship game at the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Classic Dec. 10 at 3:30 p.m., against the winner of the other 4A semifinal between top-seeded Neville and No. 13 seed Warren Easton.
