NEW ORLEANS – The Jordan Brand Invitational – a high school basketball doubleheader featuring three of Louisiana’s top teams and nationally renowned Oak Hill Academy of Virginia – will be streamed live on SportsNOLA.com Thursday night.
SportsNOLA Prep Basketball presented by First NBC Bank will feature both halves of the doubleheader – Crescent City Christian against St. Augustine at 7 p.m. CST, followed by Scotlandville against Oak Hill at 8:30. The live stream will begin just before the tipoff of the first game from the St. Augustine gym.
The second annual Jordan Brand Invitational is a kickoff to All-Star Weekend in New Orleans and helps celebrate the 35th anniversary of the first great moment of Michael Jordan’s career – his game-winning jumper in the 1982 college national championship game in the Superdome.
In the opener, St. Augustine (23-5) and Crescent City (29-4) are looking to gain momentum heading into the start of the state playoffs next week. The Purple Knights and Pioneers will each be high seeds in the Division I and V brackets, respectively.
The nightcap between Scotlandville (27-3) and Oak Hill (27-4) features star power in junior guard Ja’Vonte Smart of Scotlandville, one of the nation’s top players in the Class of 2018, and Oak Hill’s tandem of Billy Preston, a Kansas commitment, and Matt Coleman, who is committed to Texas.
Vashon Jones will call the play-by-play of Thursday’s doubleheader.
