Moore Powers Red-Hot RedHawks Past Zephyrs, 9-5

OKLAHOMA CITY – Scott Moore hammered a home run, drove home four runs and had four hits forthe Oklahoma City RedHawks ina 9-5 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Thursday night.

Oklahoma City won their ninth consecutive game overall and their 14th consecutive home game to break the franchise record. The club had won 13 in a row in 1999.

The first-place RedHawks scored a run in the first on a Moore homer. The Z's tied the game with a Matt Dominguez double and J.D. Martin RBI single.

Moore delivered his second hit in the third inning with a two-out RBI double.

Then the RedHawks sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven fourth inning runs to break the game wide open.

Paul Clemens pitched five innings and earned the win. New Orleans starter J.D. Martin allowed 8 runs in 3.1 innings and took the loss.

Gil Velazquez picked up three hits for the Z's in a losing effort. Velazquez has reached base in 19 of his 20 starts and leads the team with 16 multi-hit games. 

Chase Lambin drilled a pinch-hit home run for the Zephyrs, the team's first of the season and first road pinch-hit homer since 2010.
