O. Perry Walker's Corey Smith decommits from Tulane

Tulane has lost their second commitment from O. Perry Walker for next week's signing class of 2013.

A well informed source tells Ed Daniels of sportsNOLA.com and WGNO-TV that Smith has told Tulane that he is no longer planning to sign with the Green Wave. Smith will now consider Arizona State and Kentucky, with Arizona State rating as the favorite.

A 6-foot-6, 230-pound defensive end, Smith originally committed to Tulane in late June after considering Texas A&M, Miami, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Colorado, SMU and Southern Miss.

Lyn Clark, who previously decommitted from Tulane, has narrowed his choices down to Louisville and Louisiana Tech with Louisville rating as the favorite though Tulane has continued to try to lure him back into the fold. The 6-foot-two, 225-pound Clark is an outside linebacker who also has offers from Colorado, Houston, Kentucky, Marshall, Memphis, Purdue, Central Florida and Utah.

Tulane has a pair of prominent visitors this weekend in Edward Williams of Warren Easton and Tristan Cooper of Plant High in Tampa, Florida.

Williams is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound inside linebacker, who has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Central Florida, Colorado, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Nebraska, Oregon State, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Williams' teammate from Easton, offensive lineman Jason Stewart, is one of Tulane's solid commitments and Tulane is hoping Stewart will lend a helping hand with Williams.

Cooper is a 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver with offers from Arkansas State, Ball State, Bowling Green, Columbia, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Harvard, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee, Southern Illinois, Southern and Tulane.

Smith's defection leaves Tulane at 22 commitments, including 17 from Louisiana, 15 of which are from the New Orleans area.
