In a very shocking development, Bastrop head football coach Brad Bradshaw has stepped down from his position.
The Class 4A powerhouse's leader for the last sixteen years, Bradshaw's teams won 149 games, while losing just 32.
The Rams won three consecutive 4A state titles, one against Breaux Bridge in Shreveport in 2005, and the next two versus Archbishop Shaw in 2006 and 2007. Those teams were led by current Ole Miss quarterback Randall Mackey, who threw passes to Auburn's DeAngelo Benton and LSU's Reuben Randle. LSU defensive tackle Josh Downs and Arkansas' DeQuinta Jones, also a defensive tackle, played on those teams as well.
Bradshaw led the Rams to the 4A quarterfinals in 2010, where they lost 26-20 to O.P. Walker.
Possible replacements are Farmerville head coach Joey Spatafora, Bastrop assistant and former player Marcus Yanez, former Rayville head coach Bo Barton, West Monroe assistants Vince Landrum and Mark Ware, along with Washington-Marion head coach Freddie Harrison.
