New Orleans native Charles Carmouche is the third UNO men's basketball player to transfer. The 6-foot-2 guard is headed to the University of Memphis.
UTEP, North Texas and Troy were other schools Carmouche considered before choosing the Tigers.
The sophomore out of McMain averaged 12.6 points and and a team-leading 4.8 rebounds per game from his shooting guard spot in 29 games (starting 28) last season. One of only two Privateers in double figures, Carmouche shot just under 40 percent from the floor including 35.2 percent from the 3-point line and averaged just over two assists per outing.
Other shcools Carmouche joins freshman guard Carl Blair (oklahoma) and swingman Quincy Diggs (Akron) are Privateers to leave the school since it was announced the athletic programs at UNO will transition to Division III non-scholarship NCAA competition.
all three transfer are eiligible to play immediately at their new schools pending academic qualification.
