Drew Brees' Record Should Have No Blemish

Saints teammates mob Drew Brees after the quarterback broke the NFL's single-season record for most passing yards (Photo: Parker Waters).

On Monday night, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints put on a show that every fan in attendance, and every person watching won't soon forget while breaking Dan Marino's hallowed record for passing yards in a season. Though it is easier to throw the ball in this day and age, it is still a massive accomplishment.

It was another week of some good, and some bad. However, the bad will probably be more remembered.

One Man's NFL Picks for Week 16

We have arrived at the final two weeks of the regular season with playoff or seeding implications affecting 14 of the 16 match-ups. In a different twist, how about a full slate of Saturday NFL action? Since Christmas is on Sunday this year, and it belongs to the NBA, the bulk of the NFL action will be on Christmas Eve.

Fantasy Football Focus: Week 15's Top Plays

Don't sleep on this Viking if you need help at tight end in the fantasy playoffs this week.

Last week, I was near perfect with a bit of a good fortune on the cold starts section of the column. Kevin Kolb did nothing, but that's because he got knocked out of the game. Aaron Hernandez had an okay outing (8 points), but he was middle of the pack as far as tight ends were concerned in Week 14.

Sam Bradford is back under center for the Rams. Will that matter when St. Louis visits Cincinnati?

Last week was fairly kind to me by straight up standards. At least I can pick the winning side with more consistency after going 13-3 in the Week 14 slate of games. However, against the spread was a lot more adventurous. I only registered a 9-7 mark picking against the number.

Fantasy Football Focus: Week 14's Top Plays

After last week's column, I'm wondering how I could have missed so much on my "hot starts" with Deangelo Williams and Matt Hasselbeck, but hit so much on my "sleeper starts" with Michael Crabtree, Reggie Bush, and Fred Davis.

It was that kind of a week in the previous installment where we're now gearing up for the fantasy playoffs. Most start this week, and very few start in Week 15.

One Man's NFL Picks for Week 14

So we meet again with another week mirroring the one prior. Again, if you look at picking winners it was a pretty good weekend for me at a mark of 11-5. Against the spread was a completely different story though. The mark there was a scary bad 6-10.

The Heisman campaign of Alabama's Trent Richardson may have been upended through no fault of his own.
