Louisiana College Baseball RPI Report at SportsNOLA.comLouisiana College Baseball RPI Report at SportsNOLA.com

Tulane saw their RPI climb this week jumping from number 79 to number 59 in the NCAA chart. Warren Nolan has the Green Wave at number 57 and Boyd's World has them at number 59.

Tulane (29-16, 7-8) will need to continue to play well and win as many games as they can in order to have a chance to get into the field of 64. The Green Wave, which has only three road games left (Houston series), hosts Southern Miss this weekend in a three-game Conference-USA series. Taking the set from the Golden Eagles would greatly help Tulane try to become the fourth C-USA team in the Field of 64.

LSU (36-10, 14-7) is ranked in the top 10 in their RPI this week, jumping to number 7 in the NCAA while they are number 5 in both Warren Nolan and Boyd's World. The Tigers beat Tulane, 9-5, Tuesday night in their mid-week game. LSU travels to 24th ranked Ole Miss this weekend in a three-game series; a series win brings Paul Mainieri's squad another step closer to a potential national seed.

Southeastern (31-15, 15-9) is placed this week at number 54 in all three losts including the NCAA. The Lions beat South Alabama on Tuesday 6-3 in their mid-week game. Southeastern will take on Stephen F Austin at home this weekend in a three-game Southland series. A big potential RPI-boosting weekend set at highly-rated Sam Houston State awaits the Lions the following week.

Other Louisiana schools have RPIs below 100 and lower and will need to win their conference tournaments in order to reach the NCAA Tournament. Here are the RPI rankings by the Warren Nolan, Boyd's World and the NCAA:
