UPTOWN CATHOLIC SCHOOL PRODUCT FALLS TO HIGH SEED:

NEW ORLEANS – Sacred Heart’s Caroline Brinson fell Thursday to fifth-seeded Jacqueline Cako 6-2, 6-2 in the second round of the PJ’s Coffee Women’s International Tennis Classic held at the University Tennis Center on the campus of the University of New Orleans.

The junior-to-be Brinson, a multi-time Louisiana state tennis champion in the youth and prep ranks, knocked off Olena Leonchuk of the Ukraine by a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 tally in a first round surprise on Wednesday.

Due to inclement weather in the greater New Orleans, doubles’ play was not completed. The singles’ and doubles’ quarterfinals will both take place on Friday, weather permitting.
