Rummel wins track meet at Chalmette

RAIDERS CRUISE TO TEAM WIN:
Led by Cyril Grayson, Rummel easily took home first place in the High Flying Owls Meet at Chalmette High School Friday.
The Raiders scored 171 points to outdistance Chalmette, who finished with 125 points. Shaw was third with 107 points.
Grayson, a star wide receiver on Rummel's state quarterfinal football team this past season, was a star on the track for the Raiders.
Grayson won the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.97 and won the 400 meter dash in a time of 48.19. Grayson helped anchor Rummel's wins in the 400, 800 and 1,600 meter relays as well.
Chalmette's Albert Brock was a double winner, taking home first in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.49 seconds and winning the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 41.10.
On the girls side of the competition, Chalmette romped over the opposition, finishing with 155 points to easily outpoint Hannan, who finished second with 74 points. Lusher was third with 69 points.
Hannan's Heather Naquin was the star of the meet, winning the 100 meters, the 200 meters and the 300 meter hurdles competition.
Lusher's Andrea Baudy won the high jump as well as the 400 meters.
