'Code Maroon' issued on the Texas A&M emergency website that announced that the campus had to be evacuated Friday after a bomb threat to the school.
Less than 24 hours before LSU and Texas A&M are set to kick off in a Southeastern Conference showdown in College Station, Texas, the A&M campus has been evacuated and classes and other university activities cancelled because of a "bomb threat received for the campus in general."
In what A&M officials classify as a "Code Maroon," the bomb threat was first listed on the university's emergency website at 11:34 a.m. Central. Six minutes later, classes were cancelled for the day. At 12:27 p.m., the university cancelled all activities "until further notice."
Coincidentally, LSU's campus was evacuated and classes cancelled last month because of a bomb threat. That happened on a Monday.
