The McNeese State men and Stephen F. Austin women won team titles at the 2012 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships Friday at Tyrrell Park in Beaumont, Texas. McNeese senior David Rooney set a Southland Championship 8,000-meter record by 21 seconds in route to his individual title, while Stephen F. Austin senior Lauren Smith notched consecutive individual titles with a seven-and-a-half-second victory.
