Austin Rivers played two games in Las Vegas on the summer league Hornets squad before sitting out due to injury.
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Hornets announced today that guard Austin Rivers underwent successful surgery to clean up bone spurs in his right ankle and guard Xavier Henry underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee for a lateral meniscus tear.
The 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Rivers' injury flared up during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas last week.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Brian McKeon in Boston. He's expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp this fall.
Henry appeared in all five games (all starts) for the Hornets in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas last week, averaging 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Neil ElAttrache in Los Angeles.. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp this fall.
