Baton Rouge, LA – LSUA jumped up first, but Southern rallied through the middle innings and the Generals couldn’t battle back, falling to the Jaguars 7-1 Tuesday night at Lee-Hines Field.

LSUA got its lone run in the third inning as a two-out error allowed Thane Lanclos to score from third base to make it 1-0. The Jaguars used LSUA mistakes to get the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as back-to-back wild pitches allowed in a pair of runs and give Southern a 2-1 lead.

The Jaguars expanded on the lead in the fifth inning, taking advantage of more LSUA mistakes as a trio of walks and two errors helped contribute to four Jaguar runs as Southern took a 6-1 lead at the end of the frame,

Southern added an insurance run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly for the game’s final run.

Kael Jones (2-4) went four-plus innings and gave up just two hits and three runs, none earned, struck out three and walked three. Logan Constantine led the way offensively, going two of three at the plate.

The Generals (25-16) return home for a conference series against Huston-Tillotson. First pitch for Friday’s doubleheader against the Rams is set for 3:00 P.M. at Generals Field.
