MONROE, La. – After both being named to the Sun Belt All-Conference First-Team, junior Rochelle Roberts was tabbed to the All-Louisiana First-Team and senior Amye Barre earned All-Louisiana Honor Mention, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced.

Roberts, from Vacaville, Calif., hit for a whopping .483 batting average which broke the single-season school record at ULM and also led the Sun Belt Conference. She also ranked first in the league in on-base percentage (.530) which ranked 24th in the nation.

Roberts was a Top-25 USA/ASA Player of the Year Candidate. She missed the final 12 games of the season due to injury, but started in left field in all 46 games previously.

“Rochelle was on pace to have the best single season of any softball player to have ever played at ULM before her injury. There is no doubt in my mind that if not for her injury, she would have been an All-American this season. I believe that she is one of the best players in the country and I am excited for her to be back healthy and ready to lead her team in her senior year,” said ULM head coach Corey Lyon.

Barre, from Luling, La., led the Warhawks with 11 homers and 37 RBI. She hit for a .331 average, .455 on-base percentage and .610 slugging. She broke the career record at ULM for most hit-by-pitches with 46.

“Amye was the ultimate team player this year. She had a truly amazing year and was a joy to coach. Not only did she break the hit-by-pitch record, but she was among the team leaders in almost every offensive category,” Lyon said.

Barre was one of three players to start all 58 games for the Warhawks this season, including 47 at first base and 11 at catcher. She recorded a pair of four-RBI outings and totaled eight doubles, a triple and 15 multi-hit games on the year.
