Joe Pasternack

Metro area native Joe Pasternack is back in the saddle as a NCAA Division I head basketball coach.

KEYT TV reports Pasternack will be the next head coach of UC-Santa Barbara.

Set to turn 40 next month, the Country Day alum went 54-60 in four seasons in charge at UNO before leaving when the school appeared set to drop down below Division I. He has been at the University of Arizona since 2011 and has served as the associate head coach of the Wildcats since the 2013-14 season.

Pasternack also served as an assistant coach at Cal from 2000-2007.
