LSU didn’t wait until Saturday night’s spring game to start the fireworks.

The Tigers reeled in commitments from a trio of defenders from Rome, Georgia. DE Jamarcus Chatman, DT Ja’Quon Griffin and OLB Adam Anderson simultaneously announced their verbal pledge to LSU from their Twitter accounts Saturday morning.

Two of the three players are ranked inside the top 15 at their position for the 2018 class, Anderson and Chatman. Anderson, a Georgia commitment until flipping Saturday, is the fourth-best outside linebacker prospect for 2018, according to 247Sports.com‘s composite rankings. He’s the 12th-best prospect in Georgia.

SportsNOLA recruiting analyst Rene Nadeau likes the ability of the 6-foot-5, 225 pound Adam Anderson, a former University of Georgia commitment, at the edge. “He has ability to dominate a game.  He’s a tremendous pass rusher and good tackler who uses his hands well.”

Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Cincinnati and Arkansas State were other options for Anderson.

Chatman (6-3, 265) fielded offers from USC, Baylor, BYU, Texas, Purdue, Tennessee, Arizona, Fla. State, Florida, Colorado State, Kentucky, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Va. Tech and Arkansas. “He is a relentless pass rusher who runs extremely well,” Nadeau noted. “Very physical.”

Griffin (6-0, 265) profiles as a developmental 3 technique tackle. “Good get off,” Nadeau said. “Griffin plays with leverage, gets off blockers quickly.” He has offers from Arkansas State, Tulane, Troy, Georgia State, Eastern Michigan and Appalachian State.
