Tulane gained a player for the 2017 signing class when St. Augustine’s Ross Cheatham committed this weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 190 pounder can line up as a nickel, safety or outside linebacker. He is most comfortable playing in the box. Cheatham flies up quickly against the run and tackles well int he open field. He smells out the play and reacts to screens. He also makes good penetration.
Cheatam is the third player in this year’s class for the Green Wave from the New Orleans area and the state of Louisiana.
Born and raised in the New Orleans area, Rene Nadeau has been involved in sports ever since his earliest memories. Rene played basketball, wrestled, ran track, and was an All-District running back in football at John F. Kennedy High School. He went on to be a member of the LSU football program, developing a passion for the game in even greater fashion while in Baton Rouge.
