Rain washes out final round of Jim West Intercollegiate

BASTROP, Texas – The final round of the Jim West Intercollegiate was canceled on Tuesday due to rain as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns golf team notched a fifth place finish at the par-72, 7,205-yard Wolfdancer Golf Course.

Louisiana finished the event with a two-round score of 2-over par (578). Rice picked up the team title with a 36-hole score of 2-under (574). Southeastern Louisiana (-1, 575), New Mexico State (E, 576), UT Arlington (+1, 577) round out the top 5 teams.

Senior Fernando Cruz earned his third top 5 performance of the season and the eighth of his career finishing in a tie for fourth with a two-round score of 4-under (140).

Ryo Harada of New Mexico State claimed the individual title with a score of 8-under (136).

Freshman Aron Juliusson picked up his fifth top 25 finish of the season placing in a tie for 17th at 1-over (145), while Ragnar Gardarsson also notched a top 25 performance in a tying for 23rd at 2-over (146).

The Cajuns return to action on Saturday at the Southern Collegiate Match Play hosted by Southern Miss at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
