In his annual press conference before the NFL Draft, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said they have a wide range of draft prospects on their board.

I asked him about players with red flags, and Loomis said they take some players off their board at times but would not say if that happened this year.

“I think every year there are red flags on guys. I don’t get the sense that there’s more, significantly more than the past. I think we talk about it a lot more than in the past and you guys talk a lot more about it,” Loomis explained.

There are over 10 high rated prospects with red flags:

Ruben Foster, LB, Alabama — shoulder and diluted sample at the combine
Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan — diluted sample at the combine
Marshone Lattimore, CB, Ohio State — history of hamstring problems
Takk McKinley, OLB, UCLA — shoulder surgery; six-month rehab
Sidney Jones, CB, Washington — torn ACL
Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma — domestic violence
Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida — domestic violence
Jake Butt, TE, Michigan — torn ACL; 8-9 month rehab
Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA — surgery torn pectoral muscle; 4-6 month rehab
Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State — rape allegation
