FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University men’s tennis senior Bernard Wezeman received Southland Second Team All-Academic for the third time in his career, as the league office announced Thursday its all-academic teams.

With freshmen being ineligible for the honor, Wezeman garnered all-academic in all three of his eligible campaigns. He finished his academic career at Nicholls with a 3.92 GPA as a psychology major and was one of four players on the 2017 All-Academic team to earn recognition all three years.

“We are proud of Bernard and his accomplishments,” said Nicholls head coach Greg Harkins. “He holds the highest values and standards of a student-athlete here at the University and we are proud that the Southland Conference recognized him for the third time during his college career. We thank him for his dedication on the court and in the classroom and we wish Bernard the best in his future endeavors!”

On the court, Wezeman finished the season with a 6-9 record in singles, with five wins coming on the No. 1 court. He also had a strong showing in doubles with a 5-3 mark, going 5-2 on the No. 1 court including one win in league play.
