INDIANAPOLIS – Nicholls State University junior Albert Badosa-Soler will be heading to the Baton Rouge Regional for the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee announced Thursday.

Hosted by LSU at the University Club, the Baton Rouge Regional is one of six 54-hole regional tournaments that will be conducted from Monday-Wednesday, May 15-17. A total of 14 teams and five individuals will play 18 holes each day, with a practice round scheduled for Sunday. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Northern Illinois University is the host institution for the 2017 championships.

Badosa-Soler was an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championship after winning the Southland Conference Championship last week. He then became the first Colonel in team history to be named First-Team All-Southland.

Tee times and more information will be available at a later date. For the latest news on Colonel Golf, follow the team on Twitter @Nicholls_GOLF.
