AUSTIN – McNeese’s 4×100 men’s relay team of Blake Comeaux, Tyler Smith, Jaylen Goodly and Gared Brown posted its fastest time of the season while finishing second at the Texas Invitational with a time of 40.63.
That time ranks as the third-fastest in the Southland Conference this season.
In addition to the Cowboys’ 4×100 time, four other athletes posted personal bests on the day.
Cowgirl sprinter Aleyah Donald clocked PRs in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She ran an 11.94 in the 100-meters to finish second in her heat then ran a 24.81 to place first in her heat in the 200-meters.
Also in the 200 meters, Mia Robinson placed second in her heat and 18th overall with a time of 24.32.
Tijana Antic ran a new PR in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.15 and finishing second in her heat.
On the men’s side, Jalon Charles set a new personal record in the 400-meters with a fourth place finish time of 47.82. Charles also ran a leg on the 4×400 relay team that placed fifth with a time of 3:15.71.
Running the 1500-meters, Brian Flanagan clocked a new PR with a time of 3:55.97 for a second place finish in his heat.
