(Mobile, Ala.) After recording a program record seven wins in the regular season, the Loyola University New Orleans women’s tennis team headed to the Mobile Tennis Center to partake in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Tennis Championships in Mobile, Ala.

Participating in the SSAC Championship for just the second time ever, the Wolf Pack entered the tournament as the seventh seed and squared off against the second-seeded No. 10 University of Mobile in the opening round.

Despite some great individual efforts on Thursday, Loyola would ultimately fall to the Rams 9-0 at the championship to end the Wolf Pack’s historic season and bring Loyola’s final record to 7-12 overall.

Despite the loss, the Wolf Pack had plenty to celebrate on Thursday as Nadja Ochsner (FR/Stein, Switzerland) was named to the SSAC All-Freshman Team, Koral Martinez (SO/Lajas, Puerto Rico) was selected to the SSAC All-Academic Team and Lauren Rosales (SR/San Antonio, Texas) was picked for the SSAC Musco Lighting Champions of Character Team prior to the match.
