The regular season concludes this week with conference championships set to begin next week.

The LSU Tigers of Johnny Jones have won two straight with an 80-71 victory over Missouri on Tuesday night. The Tigers (18-12, 11-6) are still in danger of not making the NCAA tournament with an RPI of 88 in the NCAA rankings and a No. 87 in ESPN plus a No. 86 RPI in Warren Nolan.

LSU faces their biggest game of the season this Saturday when they travel to Rupp Arena to face No. 22 ranked Kentucky. A win on the road against Kentucky plus a deep run in the SEC tournament could be enough to merit an at-large bid.

If the Tigers lose, LSU will definitely have to win the SEC tournament to hear their name called on Selection Sunday.

Keith Richard’s UL Monroe Warhawks (17-12,13-5) are on a roll winning seven straight games with a win over Troy, 66-51 this past Saturday. The Warhawks clinched the No. 2 seed in the Sun Belt tournament. UL Monroe host Georgia Southern tonight at 7 pm before concluding the regular season on Saturday against Georgia State.

UL Monroe will have to win the Sun Belt tournament with an RPI of No. 115 in the NCAA and Warren Nolan plus a No. 122 RPI in ESPN.

Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns of Bob Marlin fell to fourth in the Sun Belt standings behind UT-Arlington for the No. 3 seed. The Ragin Cajuns have a No. 153 RPI in the NCAA and ESPN rankings while having a No. 154 RPI in Warren Nolan.

Louisiana (15-12, 11-7) lost to South Alabama on Saturday, 83-70 this past Saturday with Georgia State tonight at 7 pm and Georgia Southern on Saturday both at home.

Other Louisiana schools including UL-Monroe and Louisiana must win their conference tournaments to make the field of 68.
