Game One – Southeastern 7, Stephen F. Austin 0
Sceroler (8-1) made quick work of the Lumberjacks, facing more than four batters in an inning just once.

Southeastern stranded a pair of runners in both the first and fourth innings before breaking through.

Jacob Seward, a senior from New Orleans, Louisiana, led off the fifth with a double down the right-field line. After Scottie Sanders sacrificed him to third base, Seward scored on Ryan Byers’ sacrifice fly to right.

Sceroler made the 1-0 lead stand up until the ninth when the Lions batted around against five SFA pitchers.

Reliever Seth Campbell hit Drew Avans with the first pitch of the inning. After Avans stole second base, Derrick Mount followed with an RBI single through the left side to chase Campbell.

Ryan Thomas retired back-to-back batters while Mount stole both second and third. Southeastern coach Matt Riser sent Webb Bobo up as a pinch hitter and SFA countered with left-hander Chis Hassold.

Riser then sent Trey Morgan up, who reached on an infield single, to pinch hit for Bobo. Mount scored on the hit and Morgan advanced to second when the first baseman’s throw wound up in the middle of the infield.

The Lumberjacks brought in right-hander Cole Ridgely, but he gave up an RBI single to Byers before walking Brennan Breaud and Taylor Schwaner to load the bases. Carson Crites followed with a two-run single up the middle to wrap up the scoring.

Sceroler worked eight shutout innings, allowing six hits. The junior from Denham Springs, Louisiana, did not walk or strike out a batter in extending his scoreless innings streak to 28.1 consecutive innings.

Bryce Tassin worked a scoreless ninth to close out the win.

Patrick Ledet (6-3) suffered the loss, allowing one run in seven innings pitched.

Crites (3-for-5) and Mount (2-for-3) led Southeastern at the plate.
