RUSTON – For the final week of the regular season, Louisiana Tech’s Jalen Harris was selected as the Conference USA Freshman of the Week.
Harris came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points in leading the Bulldogs to a convincing 93-65 victory over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles this past Saturday.
The shooting guard went 7-of-10 from the field, making his first six three-pointers which set a new career high. He also tied his career high with four assists.
It was the third 20+ scoring performance for the Duncanville, Texas native who is third on the team in scoring with an average of 10.8 points per game.
He has been a big scoring spark off the bench as of late, posting double-digit points in six straight games. He is averaging 14.5 points per game during that span.
This marks the second this season Harris has received this honor.
LA Tech returns to action on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to take on the winner of UAB and Charlotte in the C-USA Tournament Quarterfinals in Birmingham, Alabama at Legacy Arena.
