RUSTON – After winning West Division title of Conference USA, Louisiana Tech will enter this week’s league softball tournament in Hattiesburg as the No. 3 seed and will open up play Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of No. 6 seed Charlotte and No. 7 seed North Texas.

The Lady Techsters (33-21, 16-8 C-USA) earned a first round bye in the event after finishing as a top four seed (only the top 8 teams out of 12 qualified for the four-day tournament). Louisiana Tech swept a three-game series vs. North Texas and took two of three vs. Charlotte this year, both coming in Ruston.

Seeds No. 5 through 8 will face off Wednesday in the first two games with the losers going home. The winners of those two games (North Texas vs. Charlotte and UAB vs. WKU) will advance to play the No. 3 seed LA Tech and the No. 4 seed Florida Atlantic Wednesday evening. The losers of those two games are done while the winners will then advance into the double elimination portion of the tournament starting Thursday. Marshall and FIU are the top two seeds.

All the LA Tech games will be broadcast live on ESPN 97.7 FM as well as the Louisiana Tech X mobile app and the Red Peach media app. Any softball broadcast schedule conflicts on Friday and/or Saturday with Bulldog baseball would be moved over to KPCH 99.3 FM.

Tickets for the Conference USA Tournament are $25 for an all-session reserved pass, $20 for an all-session GA pass, $12 for a single day reserved pass and $10 for a single day GA pass. Tickets can be purchased online at southernmiss.com or at the gates day of the tournament games.
