Joe Brown named GCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Southern University at New Orleans center Joe Brown has been selected Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 16-22.

Brown, a senior from Augusta, Ga., stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in SUNO’s 90-77 win over Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.). The 22 points tied his season-high. In four games this season Brown is averaging a career-high 17.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. The 12 rebounds gave the Knights’ big man 508 in his career. Brown ranks in the top ten nationally in both blocks and offensive rebounds (4.25).

This is his first player of the week award this season.
